Principles and Goals

Educational Policies

The policies of the School of Foreign Studies (SFS) are to promote education and research in foreign languages and cultures, both in theory and practice, to instill broad knowledge in the students so that they can contribute to the world community, and to nurture their deep understanding of foreign affairs.

The educational policies of SFS are expressed in the following motto:

Let Language Be Your Wings To The World

Educational Objectives

We of SFS believe that, in order for people to coexist harmoniously, it is necessary to deepen understanding of cultures and societies, which is made possible only by mastering various languages of the world. SFS therefore provides both theoretical and practical education on cultures and societies, starting from languages. SFS aims to nurture qualified people who have high-level language proficiency, broad knowledge, and deep, language-based insight into the world, all of which are vital for international activities.

The educational objectives of SFS are expressed in the following motto:

Culture Through Language, Language Through Culture.
